KENYA: Octopizzo and Nameless Speak Publicly For The First Time Since He Dissed Wahu

It was a topic that captured public attention and sparked controversy the whole of yesterday. ‘Namba Nane’ rapper Octopizzo who last Friday won the award for Bingwa Comeback Artist of the Year publicly declined the award saying it should be handed over to Wahu.

And thus came the controversy, was Octopizzo saying that he was too big a name to receive the award or was he saying Wahu was more deserving than he was. It was open to interpretation and it seems many took Octopizzo’s words in bad taste.

If not everyone, Wahu’s husband Nameless surely did as he publicly rebuked the Kibera rapper telling him to remain humble regardless of his accomplishments.

Wahu herself was also not to be left behind. Responding to ‘Namba Nane’s Finest’ she asked him to emulate her husband Nameless who despite winning an MTV MAMA Award was still humble enough to receive a Bingwa Music Award during the first edition of the Award.

Last evening however, Nameless and Octopizzo finally got to speaking to clear up the issue once and for all during a radio interview with Kiss 100 FM.

According to the veteran, he said he had no personal beef with Octopizzo but only took issue with the fact that he dragged his wife Wahu into the topic.

Speaking to Nameless, Octopizzo said that his words were only twisted by blogs and that he only meant that he was placed in the wrong category and that Wahu who was rightfully placed in the category for ‘Comeback Artist’ was more deserving of the award.

After the radio interview, Octopizzo posted a special message on Instagram saying;

Thanks to Kiss Radio & Nameless for Calling me and clearing up the misunderstanding.

Now let's change the face of the awards in this Country together for the Love of our Art.

I respect Nameless & Wahu,been a fan since class 8 & still a fan & will vote for Wahu anyday & not only her but all the female artists out there,I'll always fight for you Queens Beli'Dat! “And thanks for my fans for staying being Loyal #teamocto #808 #love #Music #Growth #change #changethesystem #dontbeafraid #stayreal #8”

During the interview however, a comical Nameless took a jibe at Octo asking him if the award had a 1 million shilling award to it, would he give it back?
