KENYA: Visita Turns on DNA After He Tried to Take Credit For His Work at Grandpa Records
15 July 2016
A friend or ‘brother’ as DNA referred to him last week, producer cum singer and VP of Grandpa Records Visita seems not to be impressed by the rappers sentiments last week.
Earlier this week the Grandpa VP responded to DNA’s claims that the record label were responsible for rumors that the rapper had gone back to drinking.
Now as some of you might remember a few years back the rapper had been admitted to rehab with a drinking problem and so as you can imagine the rumors might have been quite damning for DNA’s reputation.
And while he did in fact confess to going back to drinking he took issue with the record label saying it was none of their business and that his problems with them had nothing to do with his drinking.
“I hear many stories that this guy went back to drinking. Yes I went back to drinking, but how on earth does that have anything to do with parting ways with you guys (Grandpa)?” he said during a radio interview.
“Before me, people didn’t know too much about the camp. After me, the progress has been questionable. My personal progress continues to move sky high. I dropped the label first and foremost. I didn’t get dropped!”
"I could have done Fimbo peke yangu. I didn’t have to do Dumbala, I didn’t have to do any of these songs. Sitting there with Visita for days producing content and then instead of love brothers wanna talk smack! Manze Grandpa mko chini," he added.
However the rapper went on to clarify that his problem was with the label itself and not the artists mentioning two of the label’s prominent figures Visita and Dufla calling them ‘brothers’.
But his comments about him did not stop the Grandpa Records VP, Visita from coming out to set the record straight.
It was clear from his comments that Visita felt that DNA was claiming credit for work that he’d not done saying, “I do all the production at Grand Pa and there was no given time DNA was involved in any song production.”
If he really claims that he was so influential at Grandpa, why hasn’t he produced any single song wherever he went? He is a long gone history,” Visita reportedly said.
Earlier a Facebook post by the label’s President Refigah was alleged to be directed to the rapper and his words were not as kind.
“There’s a dead buried donkey porridge head trying to throw kicks at the Government while he is still in his grave 6 feet under…watch this space!” he wrote.
Now whether this newly sparked beef between DNA and Grandpa Records will continue to spiral on, we all just have to wait and see.
