The lucky winner of the Mdundo Celebrity Lunch Date, ‘Richard’ who is a great fan of Lilian Mbabazi since the time she was in the famous pop group ‘BLU THREE’ showed up and had a great time with us and his favorite celeb.

It was all laughter and great conversation as we enjoyed great meals and got to know more about Lilian Mbabazi.

We also couldn’t resist the urge to interview Lilian for the sake fans who were not able be with us. Here’s what she told us;

Do you any plans to surprise your fans on Valentine’s Day?

I am not a Valentine’s Day kind of woman because I find it very cliché. Sorry to my fans but I have nothing for them this weekend.

When did you have your very first kiss?

I was more of a Tom boy so I didn’t think about such stuff until later in Secondary school. I had my very fast kiss in senior two with my best friend’s brother which felt very weird after as it turned out we felt more like brother and sister to each other.

How do you handle being a celebrity, at the same time a mother and how do you shield your children from all that comes your work?

Well it is has not been that difficult for me yet. Maybe it is because they are still very young to listen to the rumors around but also I keep my life very private and surround myself with good and positive friends. I don’t stay out for very long hours unless I am travelling to do a show out of Kampala.

Who are your lovely children?

My first born is a boy called Asante, he is six years old and was born in September.

My second is a girl just two year old. Her name is Izuba. She loves singing and I feel that she will be the best me and her father.

What is the one thing you cannot leave the house without?

My phone and mifi.

Any projects we should look out for soon?

Yes. I do have a couple projects lined up for my fans and very soon they should be hearing something from me. In fact, by the end of this year I plan release an album. It features A Pass, Tonix, Orezi and Ray Signature as writer on one of the songs.

I also have a video coming out soon in March featuring Orezi from Nigeria.

Do you write your own songs?

It is a combination of different writers really, I am not that good at writing Luganda so different writers come in. On my coming album, Ray Signature has written for me and ofcourse I have also write my own songs.

Who would you like to work with especially in Kenya or Tanzania?

I would like to work with Fena from Kenya. Not so many people know Fena here in Uganda but she is awesome and I think she is very talented. I would definitely love to do something with her. I would also like work with Asha and Flavor both from Nigeria.

What is your advice to upcoming artist?

Many people think that being a musician is so easy. Like, one just goes into the studio and taala!! A song is out. Well, it is way more than just that. It takes really hard work and persistence plus the people you surround yourself with. You need to have people around you that support you positively and good to you.
