New strictly Kenyan Hiphop show set to hit tv screens soon!

A new strictly Kenyan Hip hop show is set to hit local television NTV, next month in what will be a relief to Hip hop artists in the country and their loyal fans.
Labalaa who is one of the pioneer Hip hop artists in the country with ‘Ukoo Flani’ affiliated group Wakamba wawili will be hosting the new show called ‘ Punch Lynz kibao na Labalaa’ that is set to breathe new life into the hip hop scene in Kenya.
“Hapa Kenya kuna vacuum ya muziki ya Hip hop, DJ wengine wamekataa kucheza ngoma zetu kwa sababu wanasema eti ni Hardcore sana, so tumeamua kujiunga sisi wenyewe na kujaribu ku- establish hip hop,” he said in an exclusive interview with Mdundo
Labalaa also informed Mdundo that the first four episodes have already been shot and the group will be looking for views from key industry players including Mdundo to give out ideas for the show; however he refused to share more on the project until it is ready.
The host, Labalaa had a successful Hip Hop show on NTV a few years ago and the upcoming show is expected to be even bigger given the tremendous growth of the Genre in the country.
Despite the media blackout, Hip hop in the country has been on an upward trend with rappers such as Namba nane’s finest Octopizzo, Rabbit and Kayvo K Force setting the pace for other upcoming rappers in the country
