Rock band Parking Lot Grass(PLG) split up

Parking Lot Grass has over the past 3 years proven to be one of the best bands in Kenyan rock scene particularly standing out for their amazing twist of mixing a local touch in their music by use of Swahili.

The band which has been in existence since 2010, have broken grounds for the rock scene in Kenya being the first band ever to perform at the 49 Degrees Metal Zone Festival taking place in Bayreuth, Germany last year, therefore making it such a heartbreaking moment for fans when they announced their split.
Over the weekend the band took to their website to announce the split with their lead singer Raphael Spalla,

“It’s with difficulty and respect that we today announce that we have parted ways with our now former lead singer, Raphael Sipalla, We’re proud of what we accomplished over the years with him and wish him the best”
They further went on to say “Although it was a difficult decision, we feel it was the best thing for everyone involved and it is time for us to move on.”

Their EP ''Shimo Mfukoni'' propelled them to their current fame, with songs like Speed chaser and Etched of my heart.

They plan to releasing a new album soon and we wish them nothing but success. Rock on!
