Thingira Wa Iregi means Revolutionary Rebels is a group of two artists namely Ndemi na Mathathi.This also means the legendary heroes of the tribe.Their drive is to preserve,record and native sounds.Their genre is Thagicu Rap which is done in their vernacular because alot is lost in an attempt to communicate rhythm and culturally bound aspects if it were done in common English.They do it also in their native language because they want to preserve their cultural heritage.Their music appreciates people's fears,hopes,feelings,aspiration,philosophy and aesthetics.It is impossible for any national philosophy to survive without support of their own artists.Our music plays a major role in shaping and perpetuating the society's image of itself and self evaluation of the very society.
