‘Wait’ a six-track album by Ugandan musicians Juliana Kanyamozi and Iryn Namubiru has no iota of commercial success despite being a classic work of music production.

Namubiru recently brought to light the truth of the album while speaking to Ibraah Mukasa. The duo who were then plying their music business as I-Jay did not make money from the album as expected.

At the time, Namubiru was set to fly off to France with her fiancée Frank Morel and an idea struck her to do an album before leaving Uganda.

She shared this random thought with Juliana over a drink at Sabrina's Pub in Kampala and she was game. They both hit the studio together and recorded six songs which ended up disappointing them.

Music lovers in Uganda remember the short-lived yet promising partnership of vocal superstars Juliana Kanyamozi and Iryn Namubiru. Since their debut in 1999, the duo known as I-Jay has captivated listeners with their blend of soulful songs.

Their 2000 first album "Wait" featured songs like "Not Good Enough" and "Wait (RMX)" that highlighted their singing abilities.

Namubiru moved to France shortly after the album's release, which caused I-Jay to break up. Despite the fact that both musicians have had successful solo careers, fans would have wanted more music from the duo.
