Celebrated Kenyan duo V-BE have released a new song ‘If Wishes Were Horses’ in a bold statement of a vibrant year in music.

V-BE is made up of Mshairi Spikes who is known for his poetry and  Tuku Kantu who drives rap in a mesmerizing manner takes you through an authentic feeling of Kenyan beats with the new song which they wrote with a touch of Swahili.

‘If Wishes Were Horses’ is catchy with an instant vibe in it. It sets a very energetic music pace from the beginning to the end. The vocals from the duo take it home in a beautiful delivery that has you hooked from the start to the end.

The song is about a man who is expressing his love for a woman. He is willing to do anything for her, even if it means breaking the law or doing something that is considered immoral.

He describes her as beautiful, intelligent, and kind. The lyrics are full of metaphors and similes, which makes the song interesting as you float in the moment trying to decipher what he is singing about.

However, even with the lyrical and literal prowess, the man captures his frustration with his inability to make his wishes come true. He knows that he is not rich or powerful enough to give the woman everything she wants. He also knows that she is out of his league.

The song ends with the man repeating the phrase "If Wishes Were Horses” which is a metaphor for the fact that wishing for something does not make it come true.

“If wishes were horses, I would steal one from the Ngong Racecourse. I would steal the Mona Lisa from the Louvre Museum and give it to your niece." This is a simile that compares the woman's beauty to that of the Mona Lisa.

"I would do anything for you, even if it means breaking the law or doing something that is considered immoral,” he sings.

The audio was produced, mixed and Mastered by Ihaji Made It while the video was done by Rahim The Filming King.
