He was instrumental in facilitating groundbreaking collaborations between Nigerian and American stars like T Pain and Rick Ross.

The EP explores Afrobeats and South Africa's Amapiano, further spotlighting African music. With the world's growing interest in Afrobeats, he aims to broaden global awareness by introducing audiences to the unique sounds of Amapiano, expanding the horizons of African music.

However, with Afrobeats' burgeoning international success, concerns have arisen about the genre following a trajectory similar to Dancehall. Dancehall, once a commercial juggernaut, lost its prominence as Western markets moved on to new sounds, leaving it without local structures. Akon shared a valuable piece of advice for Nigerian artists and the local industry.

"You can never be too big for the hometown." He emphasized the importance of artists maintaining strong connections with their roots and local institutions. The success of the music should not lead to artists abandoning the very industry that nurtured their talent.

As an Afrobeats ambassador and a globally influential figure, Akon's words hold weight. The vibrant Nigerian music industry can indeed learn from his guidance to ensure its continued growth and evolution.
