Hopiho was born in Cameroon, currently lives in Canada, but Kenya will always hold a special place in his heart. The Cameroonian rapper spent nearly nine years in Nairobi and cherishes "unforgettable memories" of his time on Kenyan soil. "It was in the city of Nairobi that I fell in love with hip-hop," recalls Hopiho. He fondly remembers religiously watching the show "Rap Em" broadcasted on KTN in the 90s, where he discovered music videos of prominent rappers like Notorious B.I.G, Snoop Dogg, 2pac, and Ma$e.
Since then, Hopiho has come a long way and is now an accomplished rapper with about ten solo albums to his credit. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various Kenyan artists, including:
- Amileena, with whom he co-wrote the songs E.F and On va Couper décaler
- Wendy Kimani, with whom he recorded the song Paradise
- Cathy Matete, with whom he sang on the track Real Love
- Ramzey Siele, with whom he collaborated on the song L’ambition
In addition to these collaborations, Hopiho regularly works with So Fresh NP, one of Kenya's most popular producers. So Fresh NP, known as one of the architects of Nikita Kering's success, helps elevate Hopiho's music to new heights. Together, they have created numerous hits, such as "Baby," "Indomptable Remix," "Always & Forever," and "D’où Je viens." So Fresh NP also produced the song "Samuel Eto’o," a tribute to the famous Cameroonian footballer, whom Hopiho had the opportunity to meet several times during his stays in Nairobi.
