Award winning Ghanaian artists Gyakie and Sarkodie left fans with more questions than answers following the cancellation of their concerts in Europe.

Sarkodie and Gyakie had concerts in the UK and other parts of Europe but had to cancel without giving their fans the reason why they resorted to this move. It now turns out that low ticket sales forced them to opt for cancellation according to Alordia, a music and event organizer based in the UK.

/>Alordia maintained that the cancellation was mostly due to weak ticket sales during a Twitter conversation with Joy Entertainment's Kwame Dadzie. He continued by saying that the fact that these tours are being organised by foreigners shows that they do not fully understand the Ghanaian community that lives in Europe.
Due to this, the foreign concert organizers consequently failed to successfully target the appropriate audience for these shows.

Alordia emphasised that the Ghanaian performers had a difficult time drawing enough spectators despite receiving financial support from promoters like Live Nation. In order to ensure a better grasp of their target audience, he asked Ghanaian musicians to participate in the decision-making process while signing contracts with organisers in case they have concerts in Europe.

This revelation by Alordia has ignited debates within Ghana’s music industry on the  value of audience familiarity and successful advertising tactics when planning overseas events
