Biography
The Exit Band consists of Maxwell Otieno, Meletas Javan Juma, and Kevin Athumani. The group began way early, as the band members discovered their gifts at a very young age. They come from Nairobi and Mathare and are very competitive and determined. The group initially had over 10 members but quickly narrowed it down to three participants who share the same goals and have an incredible work ethic.
The participants are still very young but highly motivated and talented. They are versatile in terms of the genres in which they specialize, but their music is one that speaks of love.
"Diversity could be man's best friend, as what is considered unique to us is that which brings us together." Javah on explaining why they do love songs.
The three went to school and have completed their secondary level of education, except for Javan, who is still studying. Maxwell wishes to not go to university so that he can fully concentrate on growing his art. Together, they have signed a deal with Black Market Records Africa. A journey of creating great music has begun for them.
They are working on greater projects with artists such as Mbuzi Gang. The Exit Band might appear to have been thrust into the limelight suddenly, but they are not new to showbiz. They started out doing shows together at weddings and events to push their name.
