XYZ Issues Statement Weeks after Mass Exodus of Its Artists

After weeks of waiting for XYZ Entertainment to issue an official statement following the mass exit of its artists, the label’s management led by founder Slap Dee has finally broken its silence.

 “After undergoing through rebranding structural changes, we are glad to announce that we are officially up and ready to do what we have done best for the last 10 years – deliver quality entertainment and management through various musical talent,” the statement read.

The label described the exit of a dozen artist months back as a big blow but wished them well in their endeavors. Former Manager DJ H-Mac left the label with a dozen artists – Jorzi, Brawen, DJ Ryhs and producer Mohsin Malik. Kantu, Ruff Kid and BMak also left with the label.

H-Mac opened his label, New Age Entertainment and signed some of these artists amid criticism by a section of XYZ fans who felt that he betrayed his former label.

XYZ is optimistic of carrying on with the glory it is known for and will be announcing new appointments and signings in the coming weeks.

The label steered by hip-hop celebrity CEO Bobby East emphasized that ‘it remains committed to supporting and building upcoming talent in Zambia.’ Moreover, the label values and appreciates support from its fans who it says “it cannot do without”.

Hip-hop star Loco Lunatic from Mazabuka is the label’s first signing.
