Lady Du: I Write My Songs in Under 5 Minutes

Have you ever wondered how long it takes to write great music? Well, Amapiano star Lady Du says she has mastered the art of songwriting and does it in under five minutes.

According to Lady Du, she writes her songs in the studio, adding that it is a product of years of mastering her trade.

“It takes me less than 5 minutes to write a full song, all the verses and hook, ask anyone I’ve worked with in studio. I write songs when I get to studio. This is not something you learn in a day. Been writing songs all my life, I’ve mastered my craft. My PEN power is ON!” she wrote in a Facebook post.

Lady Du adds that every solo she did always topped the charts which is what certifies her to be “King Yano” and not a queen.

“Every song I wrote and sang alone is on the charts…I kill songs one man. Definitely kill features too. Call me king not queen Yano. President. Mam pantsula King Yano.” She said.

Some of her hit singles include Dakiwe, Catalia, Uzuma Yi Star and Mswipeni. Her confession stirred an interesting debate with most of Mzansi throwing in an interesting word or two. One thing though is that with passion for it all, it is possible to do the unthinkable.
