Ykee Benda Educates Ugandan Artists on Importance of Social Media During Covid-19 Period

Ugandan artist Ykee Benda has encouraged fellow musicians to grow their social media accounts, arguing that social media is the new way of making money especially during this Covid-19 period.

Speaking during a recent interview, Ykee Benda urged artists who are yet to embrace digital platforms, to concentrate on growing their social media numbers, noting that social media is the only way artists will be able to market their music at this crucial time when they are not earning from performances.

"I know it is never easy but you have to try. I have seen an opportunity and I encourage fellow musicians out there to grow their digital numbers.

"Ugandans are chilling at home right now and, however, much they will watch TV, they spend most of their time on phones browsing the internet," he said.

Meanwhile, the Mpaka records boss is scheduled to release his 'Kirabo' album later this year. The album is meant to celebrate five years in the music industry and will be put up for sale on his Mpaka Records website at UGX. 35,000.
