Nadia Nakai Opens Up on Recording Three Albums That Were Never Released

You cannot mention South African Hip-hop without having Nadia Nakai in it. She is famed for her great style in music earning her recognition and respect among her peers.

However, she had low moments that affected her input in three albums she did in the past. Interestingly, she never released the three albums despite putting in a lot of hard work and sacrifices.

In a recent interview on YFM’s podcast with Banques and Venom, Nadia confessed that she had three albums by the time she signed with SID records. However, none of them ever made it to the airwaves because they fell below what the label expected.

“I had already been bugging him and then eventually he was like come through let’s work. We did like 3 albums but none of them ever came out,” she said.

 When she looks back, she is happy that none of the albums came out. “…it was premature, I feel like I am glad I didn’t release an album then, cause I sound completely different from who I was then and it was amazing for me because I got on really big songs like “Do like I do”,” she added.
