Fast-rising Ugandan artist Grenade Official has encouraged fellow artists to change their mindset, arguing that local musicians can compete with other top African giants, if only they believe in themselves.

Speaking during a recent interview, Grenade Official downplayed top African artists like Diamond Platnumz and Wizkid noting that they have nothing on Ugandan artists.

"The likes of Wizkid, Diamond Platnumz and the rest have nothing on us. Let it be in terms of dressing, looks and everything. All it takes is us believing in ourselves and what we do hoping we shall make it one day," Grenade Official told NBS after 5 Show.

According to Grenade, Ugandan musicians already have the fan base, therefore, the only thing they need to do is release high quality music that captures global attention.

"Our fans already love us. We have support and all we can do is to give them good music,” he opined.

Addressing the media, Grenade noted that radio and TV station should pay more emphasis to local artists as compared to their foreign counterparts. According to Grenade, give to much attention to foreign content has negative impact on the local industry.
