Sensational Kenyan artist Stivo Simple Boy has opened up on his first hit song ‘Vijana Tuache Mihadarati’ and how it changed his life for the better. In a sit-down interview with Churchill on Churchill show, Simple Boy narrated how he spontaneously became a star after he met top Kenyan comedian Handsome Boy who took him to Ebru TV for a singing audition.

At Ebru, he met Chipukeezy who gave him a chance to audition with the song ‘Vijana Tuache Mihadarati’ which translates to ‘Young People Let’s Stop Doing Drugs’.

“Nilikuwa naimba imba kidogo sindio, halafu siku moja tu Handsome Boy akanipeleka Ebru TV. So pale nikaenda nikakutana na Chipukeezy mwenyewe, nikatest tu hiyo ngoma ya mihadarati kidogo. Ndo wakasema, huyu anajua kuimba kweli, acha kwanza tumtest,” he explained.

Two weeks after the audition, ‘Vijana Tuache Mihadati’ had become an online sensation, with netizens sharing memes of the song on different social media platforms.

“So after hapo kurudi nyumbani nakaa kama wiki mbili, naskia mihadarati imelipuka. Sema kustuka. Nilistuka mbaya sana,” he said.

Today Stivo is a renowned name owing to the success of his first hit, which he insists has opened numerous doors for him in the Kenyan music scene, as well as afforded him the opportunity to work on his visions.

“Life yangu imechange kidogo, napata mashow mbili tatu, kazi hivi na hivi. Hata pia nilikuwa na vision, ya kuanzisha mihadarati tour kwa Kenya mzima, all over a sudden corona ikakuja,” he added.
