Mejja Addresses Claims he Stole His New Song ‘Tabia za Wakenya’ from Upcoming Artist

Renowned Kenyan artist Mejja has dismissed claims that he stole his latest song ‘Tabia Za Wakenya’ from an upcoming artist. Taking to Instagram to address the claim, Mejja posted a screenshot from Facebook, where a young artist had accused him of colluding with his producer Vicky Pon Dis to allegedly steal his song.

“Hello sir Robert Alai, my names are Kevin Ochieng an upcoming Artist from Mathare Nairobi, I have a problem and I was hoping you can help me out, mimi nimsanii ambae nilikua nimefanya recording kwa vicky pondis, nilihustle sana ndio niweze kufanya my first song, I really went through a lot to raise pesa ya studio, halafu just last week Meja akaniibia ngoma wakiwa na producer akatoa nyimbo yake inajiita #Tabia za watu wa Nairobi (kanairo),,wakati niliuliza producer why he did that to me akanidanganya heti song ilikuwa youtube channel yake, I was kindly asking form help since I had no one to help me out. My stage names are Revina,” the post read.
Under the post on his Instagram, Mejja dismissed the claims noting that those are haters trying to derail his progress in the music industry.

“Nilikuwa mimea zangu nakutana na hii ufala, yaani hate on another level, I am the same person helping new artist sasa leo nimekuwa nachukuwa doba Inaitwa dunia, If hii ni design yaku ni slow down siwachi kutoa ngoma believe that hadi nife God above everything,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, ‘Tabia Za Wakenya’ which was released over a week ago is flying high and currently has over 1.3 million views on YouTube.
‘Tabia za wa Kenya’ which is a Swahili phrase translating to ‘Behavior of Kenyans’, is a Genge song through which Mejja highlights the diverse Kenyan culture in a creative and hilarious way.
