Zambian star singer Mr Drimz has appealed to the government to ensure peace prevails as the country heads to an electioneering period. In a post on his Facebook page, the ‘I Belong To You’ hit maker said elections have in the past been associated with violence which threatens the entertainment industry.

Be Encouraged by Psalms 118:14

"One Of The Biggest Investments any country can make is investing in PEACE. PEACE provides a fertile ground for development. PEACE means we can belong to different affiliations but still reason together as one people. PEACE Means We can share divergent Progressive Views but still Live together As Country Men And Women. PEACE means respecting each other’s choice of Association. Let PEACE Prevail before, during and after the elections. Amen!!!” Drimz said.

One of his fans Anderson Tembo said he is worried by the increase of political violence cases being reported.

“Am very patriotic but i hate political violence and intimidations currently on the increase. This should not be taken lightly because if not careful we will be like Kenya,” he said.

His appeal seems not to have sat very well with a majority who called him to order saying that Zambia was recently ranked among the most peaceful countries in Africa.
