Controversial rapper, Naira Marley recently released a Busiswa assisted single, “Coming” and the record just like a few other of his songs was received with mixed feelings mostly because of the lyrically content and message behind the song. But guess what, “Coming” is currently the Number 1 song in Nigeria at the moment.

In not more than 24 hours of release, the Nigerian broadcasting corporation, NBC banned the record from getting airplay across radio and TV stations in the country. This has however not stopped the record from gaining a whole of streams and downloads across digital platforms, hence earning the song a place on Apple Music’s top 100 as the Number 1 song in Nigeria currently.

Reacting to this feat, Naira Marley called out critics for being two faced. He sent out a tweet earlier today directed at “people” who think he is stupid for making a record or rather records about sex when it is quite obvious that human beings or to narrow it down to his context, Nigerians love sex.

“I released a sex song called “coming” in a country where everybody loves sex and lies about it and people think I’m stupid. Nobody’s listening to “coming” apparently but it’s on number 1,” the Soapy rapper tweeted.

Released on the 19th of March 2021, Naira Marley’s Coming has racked up a little over a 100k streams on spotify and about 225k streams on Youtube as of press time.
