Top Ugandan singer and songwriter Nince Henry has opened up on the inspiration behind his hit ‘Killer Portion’, noting that the song was inspired by the story of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.

The story of Romeo and Juliet is about two young lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families.

It was among Shakespeare's most popular plays during his lifetime and along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays.

In the song, Nince Henry says he’ll commit suicide due to too much love. This statement caused an uproar among social media fans, with many questioning why he’d opt for such a decision.

Speaking during a recent interview, Nince Henry noted that the line was a metaphoric expression of an extremely irresistible beauty.

"When you look at the woman you love and you can't resist them; you then think that would be a good way to die. It is predicated on Romeo and Juliet play where the ultimate remedy was a kill portion that caused more chaos instead of coming out as a remedy. That is where my inspiration lies," Nince Henry said on Sanyu FM.

Killer Portion was produced by Nessim Pan Production and is currently one of the big songs in the country.
