Fid Q Partners with French Embassy in Tanzania for Major Hip-hop Concert

Legendary Tanzanian Hip-hop star Fid Q has partnered with the French embassy in Tanzania for an Hip-hop music festival dubbed ‘Hip-hop Asili Festival’.

The festival is expected to take place in Dar es Salaam from June 25 to June 27 this year as a strategy to give a platform to young artists who are struggling to make it big.

According to the organizers, they’ll be a schedule for visiting the various regions in Tanzania scouting for talent.

After the scouting is done, all the successful candidates will be brought to Dar Es Salaam where they’ll take part in a big Hip-hop festival.

Addressing the media on Monday, February 1, 2021, Hip-hop music star Farid Kubanda aka Fid Q said the festival will be held under the auspices of the French Embassy in Tanzania in collaboration with other music stakeholders including Art Space who have donated the location where the festival will take place.

Fid Q further noted that in addition to providing a platform for the young artists, the festival will go further and promote their music.

He also divulged that the festival is not limited to Tanzanian nationals only.

“Tamasha hilo mbali ya kuwa na wasanii wa Tanzania litahusisha na wasanii kutoka mataifa mengine ili kuongezaladha ya burudani,” Said Fid Q
