Celebrated Ugandan artist Maurice Kirya has finally dropped a new song dubbed ‘Munonde’.

‘Munonde’ (loosely translated to mean ‘Please vote for me’) focuses on the lies politicians tell voters in a bid to secure their votes.

In the new release, he outlines the fake promises politicians tell and how they use bribes to entice voters to elect them.

In ‘Munonde’ Maurice Kirya does not attack directly, but the message comes in handy as the country is preparing for a general election next year.

‘Munonde’ comes off his ‘Beyond Myself’ album that dropped in September, 2019.

Speaking after releasing the 10-track album, Maurice Kirya revealed that it was inspired by the tragic events he went through in 2016 where he nearly died.

"The year 2016 was one of the roughest years of my life, but also a very inspiring year, I learned new perspectives on love, hate, sex, family, laughter, darkness, friends, society, grief, humans and spirituality, all in so little time. Little did I know this life's cocktail would inspire my album ‘Beyond Myself'. It is so nice to know I've created something that will meet the right ears, the hearts that are in need of this craft," Maurice Kirya posted on his social media pages.
