Darkoo Slated To Win Big In The Upcoming MOBO Awards

London-raised Nigeria born singer/songwriter Darkoo, has received three nominations in the MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin, also known as the MOBOs) in the categories best female act, song of the year, and best newcomer.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Darkoo was grateful of the nomination, as she said "THANK YOU.
Quickly, 2021 gonna be a great year I proclaim it, this is only the beginning. Grateful to everyone who’s been a part of my journey & the ones who are now a part of this beautiful story we gonna soon tell! THANK YOU@moboawards"
MOBO Awards are an annual music award presentation honoring achievements in "music of black origin", including hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music.

Prior to thiese nominations, Darko had received a breakout into the music scene in 2019 when her single "Gangsta" went viral and she currently has more other songs including "Rover" and "Weh You Did Deh?"

This year’s ceremony, which is planned to take place on December 9th 2020 features new categories for music production and “media personalities”, the latter acknowledging the rise of YouTube, Instagram and more as platforms for comedy and entertainment.
