REVEALED: The Unexpected Story Behind Wambua's New Single, 'Mangulet'
2 October 2014
Its been a week since the release of Andrew Wambua's latest single Mangulet, and when asked about the track and why the name "Mangulet", Wambua gave the Mdundo team one of the most unexpected but simple answers,
"Mangulet is just the kamba pronunciation of the name Margaret, Mangulet is a story about a lady who has been going through a hard time in her marriage. Things were rosey when they were in courtship but immediately after marriage, things started going downhill; But the most touching part is that this lady Mangulet never lets out this secret that she's held onto for so long. She still manages to make everyone around her happy even though she dies inside ever day"
Mangulet, an Afro-house edit by Super producer Kagwe Mungai who gave us the overly controversial but very catchy Nishike by Sauti Sol, and he has proved his pop genius yet again in this track.
