As we come to the end of the week, we take you through some of the biggest Naija songs that dominated the airwaves this week.
Ole – Tiwa Savage ft Naira Marley
With the events of #EndSARS protests still fresh in many Nigerian youths minds, the African Bad Girl – Tiwa Savage dropped the official music video for the single ‘Ole’ that features Naira Marley off the recently released album ‘Celia’.
‘Ole’ is a song that talks about corruption and misuse of public funds; some of the issues that led to the protests that lasted for over two weeks.
With Tiwa Savage releasing the visuals, it helped the single dominate the airwaves this week.
Lonely – Joeboy
The fast rising star who was recently listed among the 100 most influential young Africans this year released the ‘Lonely’ single over a fortnight ago.
Joeboy termed the single as a taste of his upcmong debut album expected before the end of the year.
As he prepares for the release of the song’s official music video, the emPawa Africa star dropped its official dance video that has been performing well in a couple of days this week.
Infinity – Olamide ft Omah Lay
Since Olamide released his 11 th studio album ‘Carpe Diem’, this song has been the best performing so far.
‘Infinity’ in which the YBNL boss teams up with rising star Omah Lay is a song full of lyrics with hidden meanings as the two stars sing about the fragile subject – sex.
20 10 20 – Burna Boy
If you have been following recent happenigs in Nigeria, you probably know what happened on October 20, 2020, but in case you haven’t then this is the day that military personell opened fire at peacefull protestors who had gathered at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.
It is the events of that day that inspired Burna Boy to release the ’20 10 20’ song in honor of victims of the incident.
Ginger – Wizkid ft Burna Boy
This is arguably the collabo of the year as it brings together two of the biggest afrobeats artists in Nigeria – Burna Boy and Wizkid.
‘Ginger’ is a song off Wizkid’s latest album ‘Made In Lagos’ that was officially released on October 30. Since it was released, the song has been trending globally with the seemless link between the two stars wowing music lovers.
Even without an official music video, the audio posted on YouTube has already surpassed a million views.
