Renowned Kenyan artist Vivian has shared her views on the recent wave of collabos between gospel and secular artists.

Speaking about her latest collaboration with Bahati dubbed ‘Najua’, Vivian noted that 5 or 6 years ago the collabo would not have happened, adding that the public perception in the country has changed.

“In 2020 we are seeing a lot of collaborations, there is no really gospel and secular, hakuna boundaries, those ones were broken. So people are now just eager to experience how Vivian would sound with this one. How would Bahati… So it has met the need that is there at the moment. Coz guys were like Bahati na Vivian wataimba aje? How will they sound? And I think in terms of the music, we really complimented each other very well,” Vivian said during an interview on Switch TV.

Supporting her sentiments, Deejay Sadic who doubled as a host gave his opinion from a Deejays point of view.

”I think it’s a good thing. First of all, as industry players collaborating inaplay a very big role because sometimes hata as an artist ukiangalia, kuna places zile songs, as wewe zimefika, na kuna places zile songs umefanya na watu zimefika. Kuna place ya collaboration na pia nafeel hiyo story ya gospel maybe na secular before hata hizo boundaries zote, sisi wote ni human beings, sisi wote tuko made in the image of God, na all of us tukona hiyo personal relationship na God. So I think we can’t limit who God can use, unaelewa, just because umemlabel as secular or that. So I think when the vibe is right, watu wafanye kazi,” DJ Sadic said.
