There is no bigger thing than unity among a people, tribes, political affiliation, social standing and financial muscle notwithstanding.

In the last few days, Zambian music star Slapdee came forward to rally fellow artistes in Zambia to come to the aid of singer and songwriter Mumba Yachi.

The Congolese-born Zambian artiste performing both Congolese and Zambian songs returned to Zambia only to find his business premises razed down.

He went public with a touching message citing that his passion for music has played a great role in the growth and development of Zambia’s music industry.

“Coming back home after my deportation, the purpose for the studio was to contribute to the growth of the live music industry in Zambia not just for myself alone as Mumba Yachi, but for other live musicians too,” he said.

Touched bu Mumba’s post, Slapdee challenged his colleagues in the industry to come together and help Yachi come back to business.

“This is really sad. Mumba is a very cool and chilled guy. Doesn’t deserve any of this. You’ll get back up your feet soldier! Can’t keep a good man down! I’m putting up a K10,000 and challenging my friends in the business to help pick a brother up. Any amount will go a long way guys. Let’s do this for our guy,” Slapdee appealed.

Yachi said that he has been humbled by the good gestures by well-wishers adding that he is still coming to terms with the incident.

“Receiving your warm sympathy is comforting. Thank you so much for the calls and the ones reaching out to contribute and help my team and I. We are still coming to grips with the reality of this painful loss,” he divulged.

Yachi was born in a border town between Zambia and DR Congo known as Mokambo. He is a great Rhumba and Kalindula artiste.
