‘Mbwira’ a super album done by Rwandan gospel artiste Israel Mbonyi has turned out to be a blessing in his life.

Just as the album is a blessing to fans, ‘Mbwira’ was recently voted as East Africa’s best album in the recently concluded Maranatha Awards.

It is in ‘Mbwira that he has nine well done songs. In the album is the song ‘Mbwira’ which has clocked 1.9 million views on YouTube.

Israel described the song as a thanksgiving track to God. “I wrote this song as a daily reminder that in Happiness or Sadness, in Triumph or Tragedy, The Grace and favour of God has been with me from the beginning. God bless you,” he said.

‘Karame’, ‘Nzaririmba’, ‘Urwandiko’, ‘Nkwiye kurara iwawe’, ‘You won’t let go’, ‘Baho’, ‘Umukunzi’, and ‘Imuhira’ are other songs in ‘Mbwira’ album.

Israel says he is beyond words that an album which only Rwandans can understand since most of the songs were done in Kinyarwanda managed to come top in East Africa.

“I thank God, my fans, and everyone who voted for me. It wouldn’t have been possible to win the award without their support. I also request for more support in other competitions that I was nominated in,” he told The New Times.
