Kantu had been reported to quit the music game and her silence for a while cemented the notion that she was done.
However, she later bounced back with a sensational jam ‘Fragile Heart’ that has been welcomed by fans with positive responses.
Kantu now says that her silence and break from music was to give her time to figure things out and put them together.
“I think I just got to a point in my life where I needed to put things together and everybody thinks that I am well put, like I have everything put together but I don’t think you can ever have everything as you want it to be,”Kantu said with a grin during an interview with Hellen Zulu.
Kantu who doubles up as a part-time lecturer says she took time during lock down to write more music which she described as “deep”.
She said that all this was after a battle with depression following a nasty breakup.
In August, Kantu openly thanked her fans for the support over the years and announced her decision to quit music.
“I have decided to end my music career so that I can concentrate on other things. In life, we all grow, growth comes with change, and change comes with so many other things,” she told her fans.
However, she promised to release one more album titled “Breathe’. Kantu said that when she later discovered that the decision to quit music was not for her to make but her fans, she decided to bounce back.
