Renowned Rwandan singer Bruce Melodie has not earned fame for nothing; it has come with hard work, consistency and lots of dedication to his professional music life.

He is a highly-rated musician in Rwanda who is currently shining and basking in the glory of his hard work.

However, he could be in the red over several hits he has done which the State says have “undesirable content” at least going by a recent statement by Minster of State in the Ministry of Youth and Culture Edouard Bamporiki.

Bamporiki in a recent talk show called out the artistes who had allegedly done explicit content saying that they would be summoned by the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB).

His pronouncement squarely puts Bruce Melodie on the hot seat since he has several tracks that have been flagged as “explicit”.

Here are some of his tracks flagged as explicit:

Saa Moya

The Kinyarwanda lyrics do not hold you back from enjoying this great hit that has 1.6 million views so far on YouTube. Even if you don’t understand the language, the beats of the hit are enough to keep you listening for minutes on end. It was released in July 2020.

Ntiza ft Kagame

A great hit it was in May when it went out and still is almost five months later. Ntiza, whose audio was done by Madebeats while the video was done by Director Kenny at Zoom production studios has an impressive 976,000 views on YouTube.

Ubushyuhe by DJ Pius and Bruce Melodie

In three months, ‘Ubushyuhe’ by Bruce Melodie featuring super star singer DJ Pius has earned a cool 821,000 views on YouTube.

For the three hits which have Bruce Melodie on the spot, they have done very well, a testimony that they were widely watched. The big question remains, was it because of the alleged explicit nature or was it because of their resonating feel with the fans?
