September gave us some good projects out of Nairobi case in point; TNT Kenya released their EP dubbed ‘Hated Beloved’. This is definitely one of the most solid hip-hop projects we have heard this year.

TNT Kenya is a duo rap group; Timmy and Twenny. They are up and coming real strong and from their swag, you can tell a lot of their influence is beyond Kenyan borders and they are also not trying to be a big deal only in Kenya but also beyond. TNT are both amazing rappers and their swag and sound marry very well to create an amazing collective.

‘Hated Beloved’ is the first album project by the rap group and a great debut for their discography. The EP is a 4 track single. They pick on a groovy medium-paced sound to create their music on but manage to sound different and refreshingly new with every song. They also are easy about their delivery and have mastered the art of switching flows from one rapper to the rest very seamlessly.

‘Hated Beloved’ is all written in English which is good because we don’t get too much of that from the Kenyan hip-hop scene. They use this EP to deliver braggadocio hip-hop and sort of stamp their entry and grab a niche in the hip-hop scene.
