Gospel Singer Israel Mbonyi Steals the Show at Iwacu Muzika Festival

The music industry across the world is one of the most affected by the corona virus pandemic due to the banning of public gatherings and movement restrictions.

Following the emergence of the virus, most artistes have been forced to stay at home with performances being virtual.

In views of the above, a section of Rwandans had expressed fear that the annual Iwacu Muzika Festival would not be enticing since it was set to be held virtually

However, the virtual Iwacu Musika Festival hosted by Rwanda’s State-owned Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) surpassed the expectation of many and was trending over the weekend under the hashtag #SusurukiraMuRugo.

A total of 15 shows were held but it is Rwandese gospel singer Israel Mbonyi who stole the hearts of the audience with is stunning performance.

Mbonyi redefined the virtual edition of this year’s Iwacu Muzika Festival with his electrifying performance.

He kicked off his act with his ‘Anyemeza’ jam and once the audience was fully soaked in the moment, Mbonyi took to the amazing and much loved ‘Karame’ hit which is a blessing.

‘Karame’ reminds Christians of the goodness of the lord throughout their lives.

A guitarist, singer and songwriter, Mbonyi brought the three-month long festival to a high end with the acoustics of some of his other music that have been well received in Rwanda.

To preach hope during these hard times, he ended his performance with ‘Hari Ubuzima’, a dose of faith and courage in the face of hardships.
