Fast-rising Ugandan artiste Grenade Official has cried out to the government to reopen bars and allow artistes to resume performances and concerts.

In an address early this week, President Yoweri Museveni announced the reopening of worship places and the airport, but extended the ban on concerts and shows.

Speaking during an interview with NBS TV, the 'Amen' hit maker humbly requested the president to give a green light for them to step back on stage.

"Please help us and open these bars, even if it's only for a month. I'm not broke but we should be out there, I miss my fans and my normal life," Grenade said.

He now joins the list of Ugandan artistes who’ve been appealing to President Museveni to open up entertainment joints and allow them resume their performances.

Other artistes who’ve been vocal on the issue include; Ziza Bafana who was arrested after travelling to Tanzania for a show.

Last week, talented Ugandan singer Kabako decided to use his talent to pass a message to the President. He released a song dubbed 'Mugule Amabaala' (loosely translated from Luganda to mean 'Open up the bars'), narrating how difficult it is to stay at home doing nothing. He urged the relevant authorities to fast track the reopening of bars.
