Kamauu is one of the most exciting alternative artists to listen to especially because of his beautiful voice. He has teamed up with Adeline to release a new single dubbed ‘Mango’.
‘Mango’ is representative of the hardest thing you have ever had to do for love. Kamauu and Adeline speak about having to let go of love and how hard it is even when you know it is the right thing to do for your partner.
‘Mango’ is a neo-soul single which can however not be exclusively placed within that one genre. We listen to a beautiful fusion and layering of instruments; the bass guitar, the drums and the trumpets being the most apparent. This almost sounds too busy but it works out well because both Kamauu and Adeline’s voices are not as busy and/or packed with runs.
Kamauu and Adeline hold conversations through their beautifully written verses. Their voices blend together well and they create the most beautiful harmonies together and for each other.
The video comes off as one of those moments the two were hanging out and they decided to shoot the video outside their street and in the car. There is everything alternative about the video with some well-greyed hues.
