Roma Distances Himself from Viral Hit ‘Tundulissu Shujaa’

Renowned Tanzanian rapper Roma Mkatoliki has distanced himself from a viral political song composed in honour of opposition presidential candidate Tundu Lissu.

The song dubbed ‘Tundulissu Shujaa’ is a praise track for the opposition leader set to face off with President John Magufuli later this year.

In a post on Instagram, Roma noted that neither him nor his record label has been involved in the jam, adding that his lat song was ‘Kaka Tuchati’ featuring his partner ‘Stamina’.

“Kuna Wimbo Unasambaa Mitaani na Kwenye Mitandao Ya Kijamii Nimeona Watu Wengi Wakinitaja Wakisema Wimbo Huo Nimeuimba Mimi, Nimeona Hata Picha iliyowekwa Kwenye cover ya wimbo huo ni picha yangu mimi! Na wameandika kuwa ni wimbo wangu! Naomba Nichukue Nafasi Hii Kuwatangazia Kuwa wimbo huo sijaimba mimi, na wala ile sio sauti yangu mimi, na wala sina mahusiano wala simfahamu mtu aliyeimba, na wala sijahusika kwenye uzalishaji wa wimbo ule, na pia studio yangu @tongwerecords haijahusika kwa lolote kuhusu wimbo huo!” his post read in part.

In Tanzania, most top artistes have expressed their support for incumbent President Magufuli who is seeking a second term.

A number of artistes including; Zuchu, Harmonize, Mbosso among others have compossed praise songs for the vocal leader.
