Emeli Sande is one of the songwriters who keep giving us music to hold on to when the boat is being rocked and she continues to do so with her new single ‘I’ll Get There (on the other side)’.
‘I’ll Get There’ is a very hopeful single picked from the ‘Emperor’ movie. The single speaks on being hopeful that there will be light and greener grass on the other side and you will live to experience the magic. The song is very timely because we are all staying hopeful that we will make it to after 2020 and the pandemic and we will have life after this.
The single is in true Emeli Sande nature; it is very minimalistic. It creates a beautiful mood with a solo piano playing which is only layered with vocal harmonies and some subtle drums towards the end of the song. This carries all the emotion needed in the song.
The video is also very signature to Emeli Sande; it only includes Emeli in it and a couple of scenes from the ‘Emperor’ movie. Emeli is well situated against a dark room playing the piano and in some scenes she steps into the location of the different scenes in the movie.
