Pallaso Cries Out to Government Over Implementation of New Artistes’ Regulations

Celebrated Ugandan artiste Pallaso has joined the list of musicians crying out to the government to support the music industry.
Pallaso's cry for help comes after the 'Stage Plays and Public Entertainments Act' was reignited after over 71 years of being inactive.
He believes that the music industry in Uganda is too fragile for these laws to be imposed onto them.
Pallaso has appealed to the government to support the music industry, rather than imposing tough laws that will make it more difficult for artistes to make music, and earn a living out of it.

"We do not need these laws because we are not yet in that position. Let us first see how we can very well brush this job and improve it. How to help the upcoming and already established artistes," he opined.
"People have to be passionate about their art because it comes from Uganda and it brings us together," Pallaso said.
The 'Munzikiza' claimed the ICT wing of the government responsible for the new laws has failed in its job of developing music in the country.
"No one has ever paid anyone to start singing and they can't pay anyone to stop because music is a talent and you can't play with what God has given somebody," he divulged.
Pallaso urged the law makers to instead concentrate on how the to develop remote areas and help the less fortunate rather than regulating the music industry.
