Ugandan artiste Eddy Kenzo over the weekend jetted back home after four months of being stranded in Ivory Coast.

The Big Talent boss landed at Entebbe Airport in the wee hours of Saturday morning, together with 64 other Ugandans who were stranded in western countries due to the corona virus pandemic.

Reports indicate that each passenger had to pay Ugx 5 million for the ticket.

Upon touching down, Eddy Kenzo could not believe the number of fans who had camped outside the airport to welcome him back home.

"First and foremost, I thank God for enabling me to come back home safely. This all seemed like a far-fetched possibility but by His Grace, I and very many Ugandans have been repatriated back home safely.

I would like to thank everyone that pushed and prayed for my return. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, May Allah bless you all abundantly. To my Big talent family, Eddy Kenzo fans and the media that came to the airport, I recognize your efforts and the love you showed me yesterday despite my delay," he said.

Eddy Kenzo and all other passengers repatriated from West African countries are currently under quarantine.

The Big Talent boss had traveled to Ivory Coast for a concert and before he could come back, he was locked out of the country when President Yoweri Museveni ordered a total shutdown of the Entebbe International Airport, and all borders both on land and in the air in response to containing the spread of the Corona virus.
