In January 2019, Ugandan artiste and fashionista Vinka announced that she’ll be dropping a new song plus a video every first day of the month for the rest of the year; a promise she religiously kept.

However a year later, Vinka has not been active in the music industry and fans have been wondering why.

Since the beginning of the year, Vinka has only released two songs; 'Red Card' in April and 'Love Panic' which she dropped this month.

Speaking in an interview, Vinka noted that she slowed down on releasing new music because of the numerous songs she released last year.

The ‘red Card’ hit maker divulged that she gave herself the challenge of dropping a song every month, and she is glad that she made it, also terming it as a good experience.

"In 2019, I dropped a song every month as a way of releasing my album. Usually after dropping an album, it doesn't make sense to release other songs because the previous ones have to sink in," Vinka said.

The Swangz Avenue diva advised young artistes who are struggling to get a hit song to stay focused and ignore negativity.

"Keep your eyes on the prize and don't be discouraged because there is someone saying you can't do it. You can really make it because most of these people just want to put you down but at the end of the day, they finally accept if you believe in yourself," Vinka said.
