Fast-rising Kenyan rapper Stivo Simple Boy has dropped a new video dubbed ‘Love ya Mtaa’ featuring VDJ Jones, Virusi Mbaya and Phlexible.

‘Love Ya Mtaa’ is a song that advocates for appreciation of one’s background.  In the new release, the artistes remind us that we should always respect the hoods that brought us up.

In the opening verse, Stivo Simple Boy raps about different estates and what they are known for, adding that in as much as we may not be proud of estates we grew up in, we should not forget them completely.

“Utamu wa mtaa si kuhama mtaa buy ndai kali ingia na hummer mtaa, wasikuchoche watakutoa huku ghetto kitu hawajui ni hawewezi kukutoa ughetto,” the song’s lyrics read in part.

Listening to the new jam, you get to appreciate the fact that Stivo Simple Boy is growing and improving his craft with every new project.

The video is doing relatively well, and has over 4,000 views barely 12 hours after it premiered.

Stivo Simple Boy hails from Kibera and has been working hard to make for himself in the music industry despite facing tremendous challenges.
