The sirens are going off because after a long minute Sailors are back with a new single ‘Weekendy’ and a fire video for it.

You remember what it used to be like going out and partying from Thursday or Friday all through to Sunday? Sailors are jogging our memories to that time. They describe ‘Weekendy’ as, “… a feel good track to remind us of all the fun, crazy stuff that happens in clubs/parties. It's been a while since tujienjoy like this, so let Sailors turn up the vibes for you.”

The single is laid on an amazing Gengetone beat with a lot of signature Sailors alliterations all through; we get the screams at the very beginning of the song which also recurs occasionally all through the song and there is the usual mix of Kikuyu in the Sailors songs which is also present in ‘Weekendy’; they are normalizing ‘Ndingehota’ in this song.

The video is set in a club and the outside. Of course clubs are closed and so the setting is very intimate and very dimly lit depending on some neon lights. There are a lot of odi dance variations curating the choreography for the video.

This is definitely going to be overplayed, rightfully so in the clubs when Nairobi is open because it is a banger. We can easily say that the wait for a new Sailors song was worth it. Catch these good vibes with Sailors gang on ‘Weekendy’.
