Watch Usher in New Video For His Powerfully Emotive Single 'I Cry'

Usher started writing a song for his sons some time back and it has now morphed to support the BLM movement and the black community at large. The song is titled ‘I Cry’ for which he has also released a video.
‘I Cry’ started off as a song dedicated to Usher’s sons as he wanted to teach them that it was okay to be in touch with their emotions. The single then morphed into a song highlighting the systemic injustices against the black community.
In Usher’s words about the song, “This video is in honor of the courage and bravery of the activists and organizations who are demanding a change to broken systems rooted in hundreds of years of racism. It includes iconic photography from the great humanitarian and Black artist, Gordon Parks.”
The video picked a lot of soul from the audio in its making. Usher’s face is the main prop in the video and it occasionally fades off to show marches in America at different times, black men incarcerated and black mothers trying to fend for their children, even those in the system. It is quite an intensely powerful video that Usher has put together.
All the proceeds from the single will be injected back into the black community in the USA. In the meantime though, catch a vibe with Usher on ‘I Cry’.
