After releasing her EP ‘The Experience’, Lila Ike has released the second single off it titled ‘Forget me’. This comes a couple of days after she made some comments on collaborating with up and coming artist that stirred some controversy.
‘Forget Me’ is about a hard patch in a relationship where nothing from the other party is pleasing to you and Lila contextualizes this as always fighting with one’s partner.
Lila Ike is very melodic about here style of reggae but doesn’t make it sound too RnB which results to her being classified among the rub-a-dub musicians. ‘Forget Me’ however strays a couple of beats away from this style and it sounds a lot more RnB. This is from the arrangement on the instrumentation, vocals and the sound.
The video starts off with a mummed arguement between Lila and her love interest on there. It takes us through reminiscing happier times between them and their present which is full of misunderstandings. It is a beautifully shot video full of tropical colours from both the clothes and the geographical and otherwise props they incorporate in the video.
