Weekends in quarantine are still happening and we are still enjoying live shows from home. Over the weekend, one of the most loved events in Kenya, the Koroga Festival happened and I can tell you Kenyans had really been waiting for this quarantine show.

Capital FM collaborated with Studio Tisa, who have been hosting quarantine shows for Kenyans every so often. Capital FM had a couple of more sponsors enlisted on their show slide probably to acknowledge everyone who was involved in bringing the show to life.

This was a jazz Koroga edition with the Kenyan jazz maestros Jacob Asiyo and Kaima Mwiti. The duo and their band entertained party revelers with their magical touch on every instrument making beautiful music even without any vocalists. People on the live were excited for this with some thanking the duo for putting Kenyan jazz on the world map.

The performances brought out the duo’s regular collaborator and the legendary Kavutha Mwanzia. Kavutha backed one of their numbers with some beautiful vocals and it was a delight to watch her.

It is obviously exciting to finally get a live in from the capital FM crew because Koroga Festival is definitely being missed all across Kenya. The concert is still live on the Capital FM YouTube page if you need to watch it or to re-watch it. It is also a beautiful set to play in the background when you are trying to stay happy while you do whatever needs to get done. So, catch a vibe with Jacob Asiyo and Kaima Mwiti.
