Xenia Manasseh has been enjoying a lot of buzz even without having to release new music for the past month. The Berklee School of Music graduate threw herself into the music industry from every angle as a songwriter, a singer by her own writer and an artist manager (being one of the things she studied in college).

Xenia has been daring to delve into songwriting which is not so common in Kenya but it is definitely working out for her and even creating the entire buzz around her career for the past 1 month.

First, she appeared on Sauti Sol’s highly rated album ‘Midnight Train’.  Xenia appeared on the credits for the background vocals on many singles on the album. She is also credited for co-writing a couple of songs on the album. It is especially clear for the intro and the interlude singles on ‘Midnight Train’. She also features on their single ‘Rhumba Japani’, which she also co-wrote.

Just last Friday, Teyana Taylor released her highly anticipated album ‘Teyana Taylor – The Album’. On the credits for 2 singles, ‘Wrong B****’ and ‘Shoot it Up’ featuring Big Sean was Xenia Manasseh. Xenia is credited for co-writing these two songs and Teyana kept her background vocals on there.

Songwriting might take a peak with artists such as Xenia Manasseh who is daring to break borders with her penmanship prowess. In the meantime, you can listen to her soulful EP dubbed ‘Fallin’ Apart’.
