Mombasa, this one is for you!!

On any local map, the city of Mombasa stands out mainly for its tourist factor; beaches, wildlife, summer weather and culture. But now when you hold up the map again you will have one more thought to add to that list – Hip hop music!

It is safe to say that Mombasa has it's own city anthem. This comes after a hip-hop artist The Anonymous Vedette, dropped his single ‘Hip Hop City', a four minute track that talks about Mombasa; the the good the bad and the evil.

“I have been active in Mombasa’s Hip-hop scene for a year now, and my main aim is to fight for the rights of hip-hop artists in Mombasa who for a long time had been sidelined even by their own local radio stations.” Shared the rapper.

“I also participate and organizer some of the hip-hop events here in Mombasa and also run a blog that promotes hip-hop artists” he added quite briefly.

The track which currently does not have a video, is the one track that will put Mombasa back in map and people might actually start paying attention to Mombasa's Hip-hop industry. The catchy hook on the song and the flawless Swahili rap and wordplay on this track creates a thought vortex swirling with nothing but pure energy and admiration for the coast region.

Let me guess - It's a Monday morning and you’re stuck in the office, classroom or even in your house in between the sheets dreading the current Nairobi weather. Well, I might not be able to teleport you to the Mombasa, but this song is the closest thing to Mombasa you can get  right now.

The ingenious imagery and thought arrangement in ‘Hip Hop City’ will have you momentarily thinking that that normal chair your seated on is a beach chair and your sunbathing in the sun as the ocean waters skirt around your feet.

Don’t believe me? Play the song by clicking on the link provided below and let the journey begin! Love Hip hop? Keep it Mdundo
