Mike Rua is back at it with a new single dubbed ‘Ndinandiniria Bei’ and I can tell you that Kikuyu bachelors have found a song to sing when going for those dowry negotiations.

‘Ndinandiniria Bei’ is Kikuyu translated to ‘let us bargain’. In the context of this single, Mike Rua is talking to the uncles of the daughter he intends to marry asking them to meet him halfway because he does not have all the money they ask for. He is also informing them that their daughter is already in love with him and they are ready to settle down together.

The House of Dillie produced single is a fast-paced take on the Mugithi genre of Kikuyu music. You can hear the sharp-tuned guitar and some bass that is well covered by the rhythm of the song. This also places Mike Rua in a very comfortable place, vocally and he keeps his range right over the song.

The video takes us to scenes before the ruracio with Mike Rua gathering all his friends. It then proceeds to scenes of the actual ruracio; the uncles exchanging money, the aunties singing and the muratina. The video features Kanda Junior who does the song’s choreography.

This song will heavily feature in many ruracios after rona, rightfully so. In the meantime, catch a vibe with Mike Rua on ‘Ndinandiniria Bei’.
