With the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic being felt across the globe, including Nigeria, many vulnerable families are struggling to put food on their table.

And in a bid to help such families, popular Nigerian singer Burna Boy sponsored an initiative to distribute food to the affected individuals in Egboama Ogbolo and Mbiama towns in Rivers State.

Egboama Ogbolo is Burna Boy's home town.

According to a Saturday post on Burna Boy's official Twitter handle, at least 300 families benefited from the joint initiative with The Reach Project.

"Reaching out and Feeding over 300 families in Egboama Ogbolo(my hometown) and Mbiama , Rivers state today in Partnership @TheREACHNG. Also special thanks To everyone that helped on the project today. Every little helps," read part of the tweet.

Burna Boy's effort in supporting the initiative was well received.

According to a tweet by The REACH Project, food distribution for the two towns was done simultaneously.

"A mighty big thank you to Mr Odugwu @burnaboy for sponsoring today's twin outreach, happening simultaneously in Ogbogoro and Mbiama communities," tweeted the REACH Project.

The Reach is an initiative set-up to provide Covid-19 food relief to the vulnerable and undeserved in Rivers State.
